History

The Fall:

     According to the Gregorian Calendar, the Fall commenced in 2012 CE. As our history tells it, the people feared a coming apocalypse. Their prophecies were vague and unjustified. None recorded today predicted the true catastrophe which ravaged our world.
     Religion had began to forfeit it's hold on society, Technology and Science taking its place. Scientists made improvements to their work daily. Their discoveries shot forward at alarming rates. One project more so than others.
     The Nefario Project.
     Nefario discovered unusual energy building in his city. Using advanced technology and his superior knowledge, he discovered the presence of four other energy hot spots. The source eluded him.
     The then cities of Moscow, New York, London, Saitama and Singapore were affected.
     Fueled by fear of the unknown, Governments refused to work together to discover the source of the energy. This was their first mistake.
     We believe, had they worked together, they could've prevented the energy from culminating. They could've stopped the 5 portals from opening.
     The Portals opened to Oethaland, a realm of magic.
     Oethalanders spilled through the gateways, eager to ravage an unsuspecting world. They massacred the scientists where they stood.
     Ancient weapons, guns and bombs, were ineffective against these new predators. Metal plating tougher than diamonds, speed faster than a jet and magic more potent than any substance science could muster, the Oethalanders faced no real threat.
     Like a plague, they blanketed the earth. By magic and fire, they twisted the landscape to their needs. Desserts, once arid, turned marshy. Scaring plains, chasms reached for the earths core 
     The natural inhabitants of the world, human and animal alike, dwindled in numbers.

The Rise:

     The world saw 1000 moons of darkness.
     A human man, Solomon, harnessed the magic of the Oethalanders. He passed the knowledge on to as many people as possible. He gave them hope. A new breed erupted from our devastated populace.
     Mages.
     For the first time in 80 years, we had a chance. This new sense of hope allowed them to reclaim and rebuild our world.
     Oracles were selected to rule society. Their foresight was deemed an invaluable tool in our continued survival. Warriors and Mages were elected to guard our cities.
     Science and Technology yielded to Magic.
